چکیده
Abstract This paper deals with M 2 -signals, namely multivariate (or vector-valued) signals defined over a multidimensional domain. In particular, we propose an optimization technique to solve the covariance extension problem for stationary random vector fields. The Itakura–Saito distance is employed as criterion select solution among spectra satisfying finite number of moment constraints. order avoid technicalities that may happen on boundary feasible set, deal discrete version where integrals are approximated by Riemann sums. spectrum also discrete, which occurs naturally when underlying field periodic. We show exists, unique and depends smoothly data. Therefore, have well-posed whose can be tuned in smooth manner. Finally, applied our theory target parameter estimation integrated system automotive modules. Simulation results spectral estimator has promising performance.

Maximum Entropy and Spectral Estimation
The temperature of a gas corresponds to the average kinetic energy of the molecules in the gas. What can we say about the distribution of velocities in the gas at a given temperature? We know from physics that this distribution is the maximum entropy distribution under the temperature constraint, otherwise known as the Maxwell-Boltzmann distribution. The maximum entropy distribution corresponds...
متن کاملA Microstates Approach to Relative Free Entropy
His approach involved non-commutative Hilbert transform and is algebraic in nature. In the case that B = C, this quantity is denoted χ(X1, . . . , Xn), and its properties are very similar to those of the free entropy χ(X1, . . . , Xn) introduced by Voiculescu in [4] using microstates; in fact, it may very well be that the two quantities coinside. Using the microstates approach to free entropy, ...
متن کاملParametric Bayesian Estimation of Differential Entropy and Relative Entropy
Given iid samples drawn from a distribution with known parametric form, we propose the minimization of expected Bregman divergence to form Bayesian estimates of differential entropy and relative entropy, and derive such estimators for the uniform, Gaussian, Wishart, and inverse Wishart distributions. Additionally, formulas are given for a log gamma Bregman divergence and the differential entrop...
متن کاملA note on inequalities for Tsallis relative operator entropy
In this short note, we present some inequalities for relative operator entropy which are generalizations of some results obtained by Zou [Operator inequalities associated with Tsallis relative operator entropy, {em Math. Inequal. Appl.} {18} (2015), no. 2, 401--406]. Meanwhile, we also show some new lower and upper bounds for relative operator entropy and Tsallis relative o...
متن کاملA Relative Entropy Approach to Constructing Hierarchical Summaries
Hierarchies provide a means of organizing, summarizing and accessing information. This paper describes a method for automatically generating hierarchies from small collections of text. A formal framework is presented which uses relative entropy to identify words that are both topical and predictive of the vocabulary used to discuss the topics in the collection. These two features lead to the cr...
